The Daytona Ref. 116520 was first introduced in the year 2000, it was the first Daytona model to feature Rolex’s in-house movement, the Caliber 4130, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of the Daytona line as it as it replaced the previous Zenith-based movement (Caliber 4030) used in earlier Daytonas.
It features a 40mm case made from 904L stainless steel, a material Rolex is famous for using because of its exceptional resistance to corrosion and its ability to maintain a polished finish. The case is characterized by its robust, sporty design, while still maintaining a sleek and refined appearance, perfect for both formal and casual settings.
The 116520 features a stainless steel tachymeter bezel, a key element in its chronograph functionality. The tachymeter scale is engraved on the bezel, allowing the wearer to measure average speeds over a certain distance. The scale is beautifully etched into the bezel, maintaining the clean and sporty aesthetic of the watch.
