For sale is a rare and distinctive Omega Constellation Day-Date ‘Khanjar’ Ref. 368.0854, crafted from stainless steel and yellow gold, and featuring the highly sought-after Omani Khanjar emblem on the dial.

The Dial:
A rare and historically significant Omega Constellation Day-Date, specially commissioned for the Sultanate of Oman, featuring the national emblem in red. These pieces were typically gifted by Sultan Qaboos bin Said to dignitaries, high-ranking military officials, or close affiliates of the royal court. These were often ordered through retailers like Asprey of London, which worked closely with the Sultanate

The Design:
The ref. 368.0854 is a perfect representation of 1970s Omega styling with its bold cushion case (tonneau) and integrated bracelet. The bold, angular lines give the watch a strong wrist presence while maintaining a comfortable fit. The integrated bracelet seamlessly flowing into the case with no visible lugs—a key aesthetic feature of many Omega Constellation models from the 1970s.

The watch is in good vintage condition, showing some light age-related marks consistent with its era, but nothing that detracts from its overall appearance or functionality.

The Caseback:

The caseback features the iconic Constellation Observatory medallion, which is a hallmark of the Constellation line and symbolizes Omega’s chronometric heritage. The medallion shows an observatory dome beneath eight stars, which represent Omega’s historical victories in observatory chronometer competitions—especially those held in Geneva and Neuchâtel during the mid-20th century. This emblem was introduced in the 1950s and continues to be used on many Constellation models as a tribute to precision and excellence in watchmaking.

The Movement:
Underneath the caseback the watch is powered by the original Omega chronometer-certified automatic movement with day and date functions, known for its thin profile and precise timekeeping.

Conclusion:

This Omega Constellation 368.0854 is more than a watch—it’s a piece of diplomatic history. With its rare Omani dial, steel and gold construction, and 1970s flair, it offers a perfect blend of collectibility and vintage luxury. The bold case design, integrated bracelet, and chronometer-certified movement reflect Omega’s commitment to both innovation and craftsmanship. For those seeking a timepiece with unique character and historical depth, this watch stands out as a true collector’s gem.
